Buying ammo in bulk

I'm fairly new to the ODT. Have any of you regulars discussed the idea of pulling together a couple of guys to save money buying and splitting a 1/2 case or case of ammo from online? I'd like to buy some 45acp, but don't want 500 or 1000 rds right now, even though the per round cost could be better online or maybe even through an auction.

I guess I'm wondering if the logistics of finding 1 or 2 other members and agreeing on the brand and specifications, handling the order, meeting to divide it up, etc. could actually happen in an agreeable and timely fashion? :smile:

I think it could totally be possible. I'm down for 9mm if we figure out where to buy 10,000 rounds at a dealer rate lol.
