Looking for some input on an entry level gun safe.

Who makes these - Liberty?

How good is a "S&G mechanical lock?"

How important is the exterior hinge - different on the less expensive model - than the other two slightly more expensive ones.

Seems to be comparable to two other safes there:
Liberty Centurion Gun Safe
ProVault Safes by Liberty

Somewhat lighter in weight. Shorter by 3" exterior height.

Thanks in advance for thoughtful input.

I don't know who makes this safe but the one I bought from Bass Pro about 15 years ago has a S&G mechanical lock. No issues with it so far. Don't be surprised if it won't hold 10 long guns. If your guns have scopes or features such as pistol grips, forward grips, etc. it probably won't hold but 7-8.

The S & G mechanical lock is very reliable. In 30 years of opening locked safes I've seen two malfunctions. All the others have been lost or forgotten combinations.

Look at your goals. What is more important fire or burglary?
Or is it only for "child protection"?
What is the value of all items in the safe(do this in a spreadsheet for YOUR benefit, don't show us).
I have heard you want to spend 25-50% of the value of things as a general loose gauge.
Any heirlooms?
