A neighbors wife took some pics one day back in January while we worked some calves and spread out a bunch of steers we recieved this winter.

I spent 20 years on a large South Fla ranch doing the same thing. The only difference that I see is that we put everything into the crevice and then a hundred or so at a time into the pens and used a 5 way parting gate to separate calves from cows. We caught all calves on the ground and castrated, vaccinated, marked ears, and branded. We bought and tried a calf table but it was MUCH slower than catching by hand.
Then we worked all the grown cattle through the pens. We bought a Trojan Hydraulic Chute and that was one of the best investments we ever made. It sure made working the cows and bulls a heap easier.

We sprayed for years but were not getting the tail lice so we built several dipping vats at different cow-pens scattered across the ranch. We had a branding pot just like yours. Sure beats a fire.

I sure do miss that life and lifestyle.
