Can anyone recommend a swimming pool contractor?

Take a look at pebble tec vs gunite. Had our gunite resurfaced with people tec and it is much nicer. 10 yrs. No issues or need to resurface.
I did go with the pebble Tec. It’s used in place of the regular plaster over the gunnite. I’m told to expect more like 30 years out of it instead of 10-15 like regular old plaster.
We’re almost done now. All that’s left is plaster and I can start landscaping. White’s pools has been fantastic to work with.

Just don't heat it year round
No joke, that Hayward 400,000 btu heater pulls some gas
We used Tony at Ridgewater pools.
I don’t plan to heat the pool except maybe to jump start and extend the swim season a bit. I’m told to expect $150ish increase on the gas bill in order to heat it for a weekend. I’ll be heating the hot tub on a regular basis though.
