Can I remove a factory pin and welded muzzle device from my AR?

Hey guys I got an m4a1 socom dd and would.like to replace the muzzle.device with a warcomp 3 o 4 prong... do you think a gunsmith can do that? No problem? Without mess up the threads?

Yes it can be removed. I’ve done a good many and it can be removed without damaging device so it can be reused. I normally use a 1/8” end mill.

Yeah, it is pretty easy if you can see the weld. I have done a few that the weld was hidden pretty well and it took some grinding to find the pin.

you might have to pin and weld the replacement, depending on how long the barrel is.
