Canoe storage thoughts

I'm looking for thoughts on how to store my canoe.
I have it stored under my porch over winter to keep it out of the sun and out of sight.
Right now a trailer is not an option and the canoe is 18'.
Well this is how it is right now.

Basically I have the rope with some rings so I can hoist one end then the other.
I just don't want to drop it on my SUV or have it have problems in high wind.
(The unused ring in the first picture is for a wind tie off if it stays this way.)

In getting a new tarp...how it looks from the front.

Great idea! The kids are harassing me bad.
If I get this sorted it should be easy to drop it and go.
I have another girl coming in a few weeks so it may have to hang out some.

Maybe ratchet strap it up tighter to the frame of the shelter. Might help with the wind and you could lower it with the ratchet straps, too

I was going to do that, but, I know I will swing a metal hook right through my window glass.
I can snug the canoe higher up, but, I was having to reach a bit.
I thinking about a cable hoist. The poles can hold the weight, but, I am not sure about the stress from pulling sideways etc

I use a canoe pulley system it makes it a lot easier when lowering or raising by my self. I then add the 2 x2 ‘s. Just for safety . I added the straps when we had some serious winds not to long ago but typically the straps are not there.

I got one of these and it works pretty well. First thing I did was replace the cord with decent rope. What came with it is way too flimsy
