I'm thinking about Canoeing the Etowah River in the Canton area- I'd like to put in at the launch site at McGraw Ford near BallGround and East Cherokee and paddle 13 miles to down to the newer boat launch area at Etowah River Park, just south of Riverstone Parkway.

Anyone make this trip? Any idea how long that trip would take? I don't know the speed of the river flow

I think they have a facebook group now. Alot of those guys float everyday and lots of info on that river

I'll go with my inflatible kayak if you want to make a group paddle.
Being a vinyl blow-up yak, it's slower than a rigid-hull yak.
But it should keep pace with a canoe if both are paddled with equal effort.

I've done the Etowah from downtown Canton within sight of the I-575 bridge down to Knox Bridge off Hwy 20 and Lake Alatoona. It was pretty slow; too slow and boring if you didn't paddle most of the time.
