Can't make a decision!!! Glock 43 or S&W 9 M&P Shield

Shield with talon grips, hard to beat in it's price range, will never sell mine really like it, tried to like the G43 but it didn't have a good hand fit for me, just felt cheap in general and didn't have that glock feel... I'll stick with G19 or other double stacks when it comes to a Glock.

Ive been running and carrying Shields nearly every day since 2012 and never has the safety accidently been engaged. I've never used the manual safety and never plan too. The only reason I don't just buy the version without the safety is because I run CA compliant Shields as I prefer tactile LCI's and mag safeties in my EDC's.

Never said it would, but that it could.

The way I see it there's simply no point in having the safety if it's always off, and it's actually a negative if you don't train to disengage it every single time. Personally I'd be selling the old one and getting the safetyless model, but that's your call.

Yes it could. But anything "could" happen. My point is its not something to worry about because it never has for me, nor have I ever heard of someone saying it has... and if it bothers someone they can get one with out it. So for the purpose of the G43 vs Shield argument, that point is completely moot and should not be a deciding factor.
Not sure why I would train to disengage it if it is never on. I couldn't switch that safety off if I tried on the draw, but I never plan to need to. Ultimately I think the G43 and Shield are close enough that for most people it will just be personal preference.

Agreed on that last.

To me it's simply the grip shape that would make the most difference. The Shield fits my hand slightly better than the Glock and I'm a little more accurate with it at speed.

Performance Center Shield
Shooting ported guns from close retention sucks and there is also a possibility of temporarily losing your vision when firing at night. I stick with non ported for EDCs.
