How come some people's profiles don't have the "send pm" link? They have their profile limited so you can't go to their profile page to send a pm from there either.

Someone has an ad up for something that my brother wants to buy and neither of us can send a pm.

You can set your profile to not accept Private Messages under "Contact Details. More than likely the user has the box to allow PM unchecked.
