That is a big one. Last time we saw a rattler that big around here was up at High Shoals Falls.

They(Snakes) love to hang around feeders. I guess it’s the mice,birds,and squirrels that frequent the site. Closest I’ve ever came to being bitten by a venomous snake was filling up a feeder. HUGE Cottonmouth was hiding in the grass by one of the feeder legs & when I went up the little step ladder to take the top off..I heard something rustle the grass right beside the ladder. It took me a few seconds to pick him out..until he looked up & opened that white mouth! Hory sheet…I had stepped within 1 foot of that joker! I dropped the lid of the feeder on him & he slid off. Bigger around than a softball
