Carry handle driving me crazy on AR556!-RESOLVED

My plan is to just get a longer post but I still just don't understand what's going on. Gonna go to

I could see Ruger using a front sight made for the Magpul and similar rather than the carry-handle style. After all, not that many people want a carry handle/peep sight on their ARs these days.

From their spec sheet they say:

"Front sight post is elevation adjustable, and a front sight tool is included. The A2-style F-height allows co-witness with many optics."

Okay Tusker6N, you have my attention. So you're saying, zero at 50y isn't possible with this sight? I know 50y wasn't the military's standard and that 25m was. This gives a longer range but gets a little high in the mid range, which I'm more likely to shoot. I've always followed the 50/200 sight setting.

Either way, I don't get why my Milspec handle and Ruger backup irons are different heights.

Spencer60: I agree, but the F height front sight should match with a Milspec carry handle.

Freedom: no, it isn't. I'm just going off of Ruger's website (which Spencer60 quoted) and forum heresy.

That is my suspicion. I put an LMT LM8 (a cut down carry handle) on a Ruger AR556 and it was pretty much at zero without adjustments.
