TMac is a restaurant. Not many "bars" in the OTP, but there are a few. To be a "bar" by legal definition, I believe the establishment has to be licensed as a "bar" and receive 80% or more of it's revenue by alcohol sales alone. I maybe getting my states confused, but I believe that's Georgia's definition. (again, I could be wrong).
I won't/don't eat there for this particular reason.
Went to the movie theater on Mt. Zion for the first time in while with wife and kid. Posted on the entrance was a pic of a gun with a red circle and line through it. The wife spoke to me as we walked in and I informed her that in Georgia policy doesn't trump GA law and if asked to leave I would. They never asked so I watched my movie but I'll not be returning of my choice.
If anyone has been at the theater on Mt. Zion at night I would recommend you ignore the policy as well if concealed.
Some states or even cities (trumping state law) dictate that it is a violation of law to disregard a sign as their laws make it unlawful to ignore a private sign. This was/is the issue in Colorado and is what disarmed the citizens who attended and then became defenseless victims at that movie theater.
Gun free zones are the most successful tool to strip gun rights the left has ever created. Pure genius on their part.
The owners I feel have a right to ask that I not bring a firearm into their business. I respect that right and will not carry into their business. When I see a sign I am thankful I know where they stand so that I can choose to spend my money elsewhere. To me it's a respect thing. Even if they don't respect my rights I respect theirs.
