case rim issues

I have a CEMTE rifle that likes to rip the hell off of rimmed .308 cases. I'm working on correcting that. .223 cases aren't worth much effort I suppose and too cheap to replace to bother with.

.308 brass is a bit costly.

If the rim has been abused too terribly it's garbage. However if a nice, smaller, bur arises, not too horrible, I take a flat surface and a bit of 400 grit or lower and sandpaper and sand the bur off to allow the shell plate to accept it and chamber correctly.
