cash is just common vernacular. I.E. what is your best cash price? this does not mean what is your best deal? i have chickens to trade. kinda like, get me a coke can be literally any soda at all.. or your wife saying "nothing, i am fine"..
Absolutely depends on the other person. I've done personal checks, PayPal and money orders for people with a good rep on this site and never had an issue.
In fact the only time I had a problem was with a 'cash' transaction where I got an old $100 bill that the ATMs kept rejecting as counterfeit. And even there the trader offered to replace it with a new one but my bank accepted it after some in-person research.

I recently had to deal with an insurance company. When it came time to settle they were looking to pay electronically. I told them we didn't have any of those things. So they sent me a check
cash, postal money orders and I’ve taken personal checks if someone with good feedback and has been here a while and I sold couple rifles several years back to a man who paid me half down and balance in 60 days when he picked them up.
