Is the Atlanta Zoo a private or public organization?

lol that area is hardly dangerous anymore. It may have been years ago but its pretty damn safe now days. I wouldnt leave my doors unlocked with a laptop in the front seat lol but i would feel fine in that area letting my wife take my daughter there. Now the other end of boulevard by the hospital is a different story.

The Aquarium "wands" you. you may or may not be able to get in. I personally dont go NEAR the aquarium without a gun, and certainly would NEVER leave my gun in a car near there, stuff gets stolen out of cars constantly.
the aquirium is in a worse part of town than the zoo, its close to 5 points station
break ins and petty crime are the most prevelant, atlanta as far as an urban environment goes hasnt been to big on violent crime by comparison
it still happens though, the atlanta aquirium also, for as big as it is, isnt nearly as impressive as some of the smaller ones (like the ones in tennesee)
Last time I was there they were selling beer! You can get drunk and monkey watch!
I had a REALLY good comment for that, but I will keep it PC....
Anybody know if you can carry in the GATech basketball arena? Is it considered part of the school, so off limits? They dont have metal detectors, and dont wand you, dont even give you a second look after they take your ticket, so you could get away with it if you cc, just not sure if it would be legal.
That's why Im asking if its private or public. If it's private, they can make up whatever rules they want. If they are government ventures, I'd say they can't tell you not to carry there.
Has anyone gone lately at the zoo? Any metal detectors now?
I plan on going this weekend with my 3 year old daughter. Is there a guard with metal detectors?
