Precision Applications, LLC will be holding a CCW Handgun Tactics & Techniques course in Jefferson GA on Saturday, August 25 2018.

1029 Creek Nation Rd
Jefferson GA 30549

The class will start at 8am and run until approximately 5pm, with a 1 hour break for lunch.

Topics to be covered will include, but are not limited to:
-Combat Mindset
-Today’s threats and how to be best prepared for them
-Discussion of the pros and cons of various methods of CCW
-Working with each individual shooter to optimize their skills with their particular handgun and concealment system
-Methods of drawing from concealment
-Types of reloads. We will cover revolver reloads as well, if any shooters are using one.
-Carry and use of a BUG, if applicable
-We are not doing lowlight in this course, but we will cover WML’s and handheld lights, as well as the techniques for employing both
-Engagements from numerous seated positions and situations
-Shooting while moving and negotiating common types of obstacle to be found on a daily basis
-Discussion of Cover vs Concealment and the use of both

Gear list:
-Handgun, either semi-automatic or revolver. Backup guns are permitted.
-Holster. Within reason, most all types of carry/holsters are permitted, including pocket carry, but a holster is mandatory. If you are not sure if your chosen method of carry will be permissible, please contact me so that we may discuss it.
-Ammunition sources on your person for reloads, whether it is magazines, speedloaders, speed strips, etc. If your handgun holds at least 12rds, then 2 additional reloads/magazines on your person should cover it. For a capacity of 7-11rds, add an additional ammunition source on your person for reloads. Less than 7rd capacity, at least 4 reload sources on your person. These can be in pouches, pockets, etc.
-600 rounds of ammunition
-Eye and ear protection
-Covering garment is mandatory for all drills, but the type is up to the shooter
-Hat with a front brim
-Handheld light, even if a WML is mounted

If time permits we will shoot the Tactical Pistol Course for score. Anyone that passes will be awarded a Challenge Coin.

Dress appropriately for the weather, whatever it will be. Comfortable attire and shoes/boots are a must. Bring plenty of water.

The course is limited to 20 students. Course fee is $200 paid in advance. We accept checks, money orders, cash and discrete PayPal (you pay the 3.5% fees). Your spot is not guaranteed until your course fee is received.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. If you are interested in receiving POST credit for the course, please contact me so that I can set it up ahead of time.

I’ll have to check the roster at home. Don’t know that I’ll recognize the names, though.

I'm eager to see how my holster pans out. I like it pretty good, and practice drawing often, but not nearly enough real training with it. No better way to find out than to run it through the class.

Yep. I see a lot of folks dumping gear after or during a class.

That's exactly what I will do if it doesn't make the cut. I have practiced with it some, and its OK, but 50 rounds fired down at the farm once a week isn't exactly the most accurate measuring stick of capability.

I’ve had kit that I trained with on my own and thought was G2G. Later I would take a class from someone else, or shoot a comp, and then find that it wasn’t as good as I thought it was. The added stress can make a differences at times.

It is also a perfect opportunity to test my belt(s). I need everything to work together.

I’ll be sending out an email to all attendees later tonight. Just in case, here’s the info:

GPS will take you to the house next door. The range is going to be a cattle gate in a fence just off the road. I will staple a target next to the gate.

You will come through one or two closed gates. Let yourself through, close the gate behind you. DO NOT LOCK any of the gates.

I’ll bring a pop up tent. A few extras would be nice.

Please bring a chair, if possible.

You can bring your lunch, or leave to go eat. You’ll have time. There is also a Publix very close to the range. Bring plenty of water.

We’ll be outdoors all day, so there will be bugs, although they don’t tend to be bad there. If bugs bother you, bring bug spray. Sunscreen would be a good idea, as well.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
