Anyone use it?

Looking to load up some 124's in 9mm for my CZ SHADOW and PCC.

Powder selection for a new reloader is overwhelming...to say the least.

Watch the bullet length on the CZS,my CZ 75 likes a aol of 1.10 or less, they are known for having short chambers. I learned that the hard way, after you load the first one drop it in your chamber to check for fit.

I'm a long time CZ shooter. Very familiar with this process.

Also need them a bit on the short side for my PCC. Not for the chamber so much, but for the big stick mags. Longer ammo tends to get hung up on the basepad extension joint.

Any powder from number 13 to number 33 on this chart will work for your purposes.

The first 55 in the list will work, but the application of those powders before 13 and after 33 is pretty limited for good all around results.

If you can find HP38, or w231, that is an excellent starting place. It is easy to dial in on the Dillon and easy to make accurate loads with lead or jacketed bullets.

Thanks for the info.

Can you tell me how it was determined that 13-33 would be optimal?

If you’re loading 9 major or self defense ammo, CFE is great. If you load 9mm minor rounds, I’m afraid you’ll find it disappointing. Lots more perceived recoil.

Make this subforum your friend. For gun game load development, it’s the best in the world:

For lower perceived recoil in 9mm minor, go for the faster end of the burn rate chart. Very popular options are:

Titegroup (can be a little too hot on coated bullets, but not always)
Sport Pistol
VV N320

What works and what doesn’t is well established. You’re going to smile like a kid in a candy shop first bill drill you run with proper Minor handloads.
