CGA Long Gun Series

Oh that sucks. I was hoping it was going to be just a relaxed way to dip my toe in. Maybe I should just bring out my 13.7" 5.56 with a 1-6 and join the clowns.
It is geared to be an intro and is laid back. There have been some stages that are just stupid and piss poor design. Couple that with people who are pushed out of their comfort zone and already stressed, things can go downhill.

I have shot competitions before, just not precision rifle comps and I certainly attempt to maintain a very calm mindset. The timer is going to do what it is going to do and you are only going to go as fast as your capabilities allow so I try to work inside of those limits comfortably. From what I have seen most people get caught up in wanting to look a certain way, usually trying to look faster than they actually are, and that is where the problems come in. If you give a hoot about what others think, its easy to fall victim to that.

I have no expectations other than to learn. I can lay down and shoot prone or from a bench fairly well, put together tight 100 yard groups, and know my dope, but I am very interested in learning how to set up in compromising positions and still be steady. That is something I almost never work on but it I know is practically important. The position somewhere in between kneeling and standing is the one that I can't hold steady to save my life. Would like to see how others try to tackle it.

Dude! Go shoot that match and you'll understand why I reacted that way. :becky:

I will likely shoot that one or one the very next weekend in Savannah as I have to be down that way and I see there is a Saturday match out to 1100 yards going on while I will be down there.

LOL, We'll have lots of gear for you to try out so no sleeping gear needed. LOL

I planned on shooting my first ever PRS match on June 15th there, paid my money and then the match got canceled. I might be able to make the July 13 one, still not sure. Can't wait to get my arse handed to me trying something new, that's always fun. Someone told me to buy a "pillow", and I said I didn't realize we were sleeping overnight. I am sure after I shoot the first one I will have to go buy some sleeping gear.

You forgot to mention all the fun and the tranny porn. There is a little something for everyone!
