Charter or Xfinity. That is the question

I don't have home internet or tv. Haven't needed it or wanted it for a while but I do need to make an effort to keep up with the times. I'm wanting internet only and then planning to stream whatever tv/movies I can get for free online (roku). Any input welcome on previous experiences with either provider. Planning to get the motorolla surfboard sbg6580 for a modem/router all in one. Any other tricks or tips to all this technology that I know very little about?? Anything I'm forgetting? I'll be using the internet for surfing, PS3 COD and wifi'ing my smartphone. Thanks for any help!

Charter. I hear their CS sucks big time but I'm sure Xfinity isn't far behind.

I left UVerse because their service was unstable and got Xfinity. There is definitely a reason Comcast is known to have the worst customer service in all the land.

I never had a problem with Comcast. I have Charter and it is horrible.

What about streaming tv channels? I would only be interested in discovery, history, amc... that type stuff. Is there a way since I have the will?

It boils down to who do you want to hate more. Im pretty sure they are the same people with the same hardware on the same lines but split to avoid monopoly laws or something.
