Cheap handgun for the truck

I've got an old KelTec P11 that I bought for a car/truck gun many years ago. Horrible trigger pull, but has always gone bang when required. Not a great monetary loss if stolen.
Discontinued now, but probably a few lying around unloved in pawn shops.
9mm, DAO, 10 or 12 round mags.
That's what I have in my jeep. 2012 by staging my trigger I shot a 170 pound dog attacking my neighbor. 110 foot shot missed its heart by 2 inches. Dog lived but the owner had a big bill plus 350.00 fine.

$273.99 for a Filipino gen 3 Glock clone. No idea if it’s worth a damn but the reviews seem positive. And the design is proven.

I have a Taurus G2C I bought years ago here for $180, like new in box with an extra magazine.
That’s what I take to the airport to leave in the truck while it’s parked, so I have something each way home. I have also checked it in my luggage on some trips, I figure if one of the airport workers stole it, I wouldn’t be that upset.
Not my favorite gun by far, but it always fires after that long trigger pull.

I'm a poor as it gets. Negative 17 cents in my bank account most the time. But I seriously don't understand why my fellow poors see a significant difference in losing a $200 garbage gun vs loosing a $400 decent gun.

It's just not something that keeps me up at night, I'll spend $400 on a Glock before trusting my life to some imported garbage rod Glock imposter all day long and be no less poor.
