He got beat in qualifying, and accused the pole sitter of cheating.

Asked how did he know the pole sitter was cheating, he allegedly said "because I'm cheating, and he's faster than I am."

Back in the day, unofficial motto of NASCAR was "if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying."
