Pretty quick question, apologies if this has been over before....

I know the standard for checking group size is 100 yards.

My private range is setup for about 65 yards.

In your opinions, how big of a deal is it shooting at 65 yards to get an idea for figuring out ideal loads?

I'm hoping to use 65 yards to figure out what loads look promising and which ones don't.

The kicker is I'm trying to find something my rifle likes for long range (6.5 creedmoor)

Is checking loads at 65 yards a waste of time?

I've only made up one to try so far, will make a few more before I make a test run.

I'd have to check my notes...
I think I did 41 grains of H4350
with 140 grain Hornady eld match

Around 2700 if I recall correctly. I'd have to reference the manual.

Got a magnetospeed in the mail the other day. Looking forward to trying it out.

seems like you might not be able to tell to much difference between 65 yards and 100 yards if the rounds impact within .50 moa. What you get center to center x 2 would get you close to moa at 100 yards. Look at snippet. Zero range is 65 yards and the target range is 100 yards it shows that the round would impact just a tad below the X.

Sure thing. I went with the sporter. Ordered from midway.

Used one on my rifle with an instructor back in December and was sold on the simplicity.
