Childhood in the 70's and 80's

We used to jump our bikes (mine a 5-speed banana bike from Sears) over a rotten plank supported by cinderblocks. Had to rebuild the bikes after every jump. Same with sledding as teenagers -- had to rebuild the sleds after every jump.

Dad bought a bale of straw and put it against the wall of the unfinished basement, with a piece of plywood behind it. He put a lighted candle in front, and that was our .22 rifle shooting range. I can still hear the ricochets through the HVAC ducting!

Two great stories
