Looking for a great 22lr for my daughter. I told her when she turned 8 I would get her a gun. Well that time is here. I am looking to buy one but I also would like some recommendations. Nothing to break the bank just a good quality gun. Thanks TOT members!!

Santa brought my daughter a pink Crickett .22 last Christmas.

Simple little bolt action single shot. She has really enjoyed it and it hasn't given any problems.

Semi or single?

I'd go with the single shot. It's safer and teaches people to take their time. Cricket's have a good reputation. There are a lot of youth sized older guns also (or you can cut a stock down). Winchester 67 is a classic.

Ruger 10-22 for a semi. Should be about $180 before Christmas.

Cricket has been said and I'll echo it. Great beginner gun to teach kids gun safety and the enjoyment of shooting. Then take it to Dobbs and have it threaded for a can! :D
