RE: the Safir Arms .410 Upper - Seems to be very little out there as to legit reviews so the info on these is limited which is concerning somewhat, but it is a rather interesting concept - I have in fact been debating on a purchase for a while now. Some drawbacks are the ammo is rather expensive and apparently the upper is picky on what .410 it likes, Federal High Brass being a recommended one, which at $12.60 for 25 shells (for comparison federal 12 g. same shot size is 6.18) that's around 50 cents a pop. .... I'd assume slugs are more pricey (approaching the dollar / slug range) . I am curious if anyone on this forum has one of these, as I am pretty interested. Plus I can't find any data on the choke type . Wonder if it would run OK on a plum crazy lower, or, is that just ...well, plum crazy...

Hmm..just me but would a .410 slug on an AR platform really be a good thing? For a solid projectile wouldn't a .308(for instance) be LOTS better. Now a .410 shot shell option on an AR platforms seems like a real plus. Can a Plum Crazy handle heavier recoil of .308 etc? If so it should be able to handle the .410 I would think. Just my thoughts on it.

Yea, .308 would be much better, but of course it would not fit my standard (556/.223) lower - A .308 upper requires a special lower. And .308 platform is much-o more pricey. I was just thinking the .410 would be a sweet item for my lonely plum crazy lower....

Ah. So the .410 may just be the top end of power the standard lower could handle. Yeah I can see how that might be an issue with a carbon lower.
