RamRoddoc, what vintage is your 17?
It's a Model 17-3 so puts it in the 1970's I think. Not bad looking for a 40+ year old revolver.

I really love those old Smith's. The model 17 and 22 revolvers were .22 LR works of art. A lot of craftsmanship went into those old guns.
The original H&R firm was in business for over a century from 1871 to 1986. This is an H&R 999 .22 LR. It's a 9 shot break-top. My Dad had one that I shot in my youth and I found one on here in very nice condition. They are a lot of fun!
I started collecting these snake guns this past January. The blued 6" is an unfired colt custom shop python from 1978.
