Cool, which side is the logo on? I can't tell from the picture. The early no dash have the logo on the side plate.
What's the 3 alpha prefix? Please say AAA.....It is on the left side, not the side plate. I was reading and couldn't really figure out when it was shipped, from what I read it seemed to be a fairly early model.

Trying to figure out those prefixes is a pita. I would say 1983 for abv.It is on the left side, not the side plate. I was reading and couldn't really figure out when it was shipped, from what I read it seemed to be a fairly early model.

Looks good! Nice polish job!Spent all day with some Mothers Mag......I know some of y'all will curse me for this, but this was a good shooter grade, id say 85%. It had a good bit of small light scratches so I polished it up real nice. Should look good with the Rosewood Altamonts on the way.

They use the same number/date system that's in the book. They don't look in the archives like Roy does. Roy is the only person with access to the archives.Best way is to email Smith and Wesson customer service they will tell you for free.

Really, S&W doesn't give a crap about anything vintage or collectable. Or helping us collectors out with shipping info.
