Clearing blow downs in the Cohutta WIlderness Area

Here’s a few pics from our work trip yesterday to clear trees blown down by the thunderstorms and were blocking trails in the Cohutta Wilderness Area. Since it is a designated wilderness area we can’t use chainsaws and have to use crosscut saws and axes. Jim, Zoe and myself cut 8 trees of which 4 were red oaks 30+ inches in diameter. Going back on saturday to finish up to Hemp Top.
