I have a Redfield scope, 4X, has been in the box for probably 20 years on the shelf. I recently put it on a gun and looked thru it and ugh, cloudy. took it out to the range and sighted it in and it shot great, but cloudy/ I called the "new" redfield company and they told me they couldn't help me because it was the old Redfield company and they didn't buy the liability for them. Sure would like to fix it but what can be done? Wallacem in Ga

Do you have a vacuum pump?

Before I would toss it, try sticking it in a sealed container and pull a vacuum on it for several days. You can fab up a cheap container from 3 inch PVC pipe and some fittings.

An AC vacuum pump will do nicely as a vac source.

This assumes the clowdieness is moisture.

If that fails, a 300 degree oven for 3 or 4 hours. But this could very well trash it, depending on the materials in the scope.
