granted I havent seen these in person yet but I also havent seen a USGI 1911 for less than 800 in years

I'd be interested at the $600 price point, but I scored a WWII Colt off Gunbroker for $900 and a WWI Colt off ODT for $850.

You said it: “no historic or collector value”. Absolutely right! For the same price I can get a BNIB 45 with all the bells and whistles. Twice as accurate and more reliable.

And what if the only original part on the gun is the frame? The rest Vietnam era replacement parts? Very little historic value, IMHO.
