One issue of letting ISIS run wild for years was that they've managed to capture equipment owned by the Syrian and Iraqi governments. This wouldn't be that damning but guess who gave the Iraqis most of their equipment? We did. Not only did we give them weapons but they received other state-of-the-art equipment, most of it being captured when ISIS took Mosul. Also an ungodly amount of gold and currency which has bankrolled ISIS/Baathist operations.

Iraqi forces have captured chunks of Mosul but the fight is still ongoing. Since February alone Iraqi forces have suffered ~300 KIA.

If judges were held accountable for decisions that caused damages and death by terrorists the travel ban would not be a issue.

I don't even recall hearing about the bomb that went off on the airplane...I guess it wasn't newsworthy during the election?
