Cold weather function checks/ lubricants

Back in the 90's Chuck Taylor wrote an article where he tested several guns in either the Arctic or Alaska or somewhere in extreme cold. I believe that a light coating of Rem Oil was his recommended choice. I've used it for years (along w/ Breakfree CLP) in the winter & never had any problems.
 
I use hoppes gun oil for all of my guns....no problems as of yet. I wouldn't think it would be an issue since it's so "old school" lol
