So I was just thinking how many people on here went to college and if it was worth it for you? I chose to not go and work my way up the ladder the hard way in sales. I make decent money but now at 37 years old I wish I would have got a better education.

If I could do it all over, I'd of gone into the USAF or Air Guard and learned a lot of valuable skills. Then been able to go to nursing school and then is be set....

Although, my mom has a bachelors in education and has never taught a day in her life...I guess it just depends on the person...

Two years of college here. Tried my best but finally came to the realization that Im not the academic type, at all. Went to trade school and make a good living now working with my hands. Only thing Id change is bypassing college and going straight to tech school.

Yes, I have more school that I'm willing to admit. I finally started making good money when I went technical with my studies, so yes, it's finally paying off. I'm also 37.

I did mechanic engineering. It's been good. That piece of paper really opens a lot of doors. I wonder too though if I would have started working under an electrician or plumber if I'd be very successful with my own biz now. I would recommend anyone with half a brain to at the least get a 2 yr degree if just for the life experience and confidence and to make you aware of what's out there.

Next thing to ask is that college gives you so many social interactions and opens your mind more. If that's good.....

I hated school. im a die hard hands on learner. I learn as I go or showed by someone else. I hate reading a book and expect to learn how to do something. so no, I never went to college lol.

but I do have the GI bill now and have been thinking of trying my luck again. I really would like to do IT doing computer security. I think my MP and top secret security clearance would get me in the door to a really nice place to work. but I hate book learning lol. I dunno if I could keep the GPA up. plus, I hate math haha. I would have to go fulltime and hopefully have teachers willing to show me how to do the stuff. not just point in a book to learn.

It all depends on what type of work you're trying to do as to whether its worth it or not ....in the end its just a piece a paper that matters, you learn the basics of your field and how to generally apply it. BTW it all depends on the school as well.

I did not. The wife did.

I'm 2 years older than her and currently make 45% more than she does.

Hopefully one day she'll overtake me and I can fulfill my fantasy to be an all-day ODT'er! :D
