Colt Officer 1911 grip experts needed

Where is a good and credible place to get the medallions?

Another site I posted this question on said:

1- They were made by Nutmeg Sports, LLC, who made a lot of the custom grips for Colt. Said they looked like highly polish South African giraffe bone. https://www.nutmegsports.com/

2- Another person said they look like ivory soaked in tea. Never heard of this before, any of you?

Yes, used to soak ivory in tea, it darkens the grains to give it an aged look, fresh ivory can be very whiteish and hard to see the patterns/grains...I actually thought the same thing when I saw your pics. It's been about 30 years since I last handled real ivory grips so I wanted to let more recent experts chime in lol

Another question, if I buy the medallions online somewhere, how do they stay on the grips- almost looks like they have a rivet type barrel that has to bellow out to stay in place?
