To All,

What, in your opinion, is the perfect concealed carry option? I'm a CZ guy, but my P01 felt like an anvil back there tonight. A few parameters: slim, light, in 9mm or .45, reliable, and not too expensive. Also, holsters and accessories should be widely available. I love CZs, but they don't have a great concealed carry gun. Also, grips and holsters can be hard to find. I would love to hear everyone's considered opinions. Thanks for your thoughts.

I carry a CZ 2075 Rami nearly everyday. it is about the same overal height and length as the S&W Shield, but significantly thicker because of it being double stack. With a good holster and belt it carries very comfortably.

Jones Tactical belt and almost finished kydex holster.

The G19 is the standard that everything else is judged by.

One of our student alumni occasionally carries a polymer framed CZ but the G19 is usually considered to be the most commonly carried med. sized platform that is carried by those who carry everyday.

For "pocket carry", J frame Smiths, Ruger LCRs, S&W Bodyguard .380's, Ruger LCP .380's, & similar sized guns all have devoted followings.

However, the S&W Shield, Beretta Nano, XDS's, Kahrs, & other single stack designs are making headway as good compromises.

* Whatever platform a person prefers the absolute key is to find a quality carry system w/ well designed belt & holster made of sturdy materials.

Dodge, Ford or Chevy. This thread could go on for weeks. Good Luck with what you decide on!

The most annoying questions are what gun should I buy, what caliber should I get, and what holster should I use. Not because they're stupid questions, but everyone throws in their opinions, and opinions are like assholes, they usually stink.

What gun should I buy? Go to the range, handle every one they have, manipulate it, dry fire it, narrow them down and shoot the top 4 or 5. Then go home and research things like magazine Ans spare parts availability, reliability, aftermarket support for holsters and such.. Take the most sensible route. What caliber should I get? Get the same style gun in a few different calibers you're considering and shoot them. Pick the one you shoot the best with that doesn't make you uncomfortable or flinch when shooting. What kind of holster should I buy? Again, decide how you want to carry, open or concealed, pocket, aiwb, ankle holster, St,.. Look at pros and cons of each type of method. Pick the one you feel most comfortable with. Then go and look at several manufacturers and find reviews of each. No sense in me telling you to buy a Glock 19 when you feel more comfortable with a sig p238..
