Yes. Makes absolute sense. Saw it a number of times. Especially after an engine change or APU change. Not only was I in the Air Force, I was in aircraft maintenence.

Chemtrails.!
From my porch I can watch a "contrail" for hours as it separates and turns a clear day to haze.
I can also watch a plane leaving "contrails" and then it shuts off. Seconds later it turns back on.

So you're say that all of the planes going over head leaving trails are running failing auxiliary power units in flight? You do realize that they don’t run after the engines start don’t you? Let me guess they have built in diverters so the smoke doesn’t come out in a single trail too?
The EPA and the global warming crowd are going get some wet panties over that kind of pollution.
