Cool OLD gun and need info PLZ HELP!

was wondering if I could get a price check on this old gun I have acquired. 1940 smith and Wesson 357 mag with all original paperwork and box. Even have the letter from the factory to the buyer.

Could someone maybe give me a roundabout value range?

Open the cylinder. Anything written on the frame/ A detailed closeup of that area would help.

1940 factory .357......Gotta be either a Registered Magnum or Prewar Non-registered Magnum! Either way you are going to be very happy about the value of the complete package. I am sure @JWC or @Leatherhead will be sending you a PM and getting to the bottom of all your questions.

I can't get a letter yet but it prolly has less than 100 through the gun. Cyclinder looks like it is barely used. It's a prewar non registered magnum
