I used to be in the "all snakes are bad" camp but over the years have realized that there are benefits to having non venomous snakes in your yard.

This is happening on the sidewalk just off of my front porch. The other videos are still uploading but, spoiler alert, I had to finish off the copperhead with a shovel but I did get video of the corn snake getting his well deserved meal.

Ahh, looked a lot like a copperhead to me and given the small size I couldn't tell it wasn't. Next time I'll look much closer but I still don't know that I could tell difference in one that small. Do the heads of juveniles alread have the trademark triangle shape?

Yes, but most non venomous snakes will flatten their heads to mimic a venomous snake when threatened. The best way to identify any snake is by color patterns. Here is a link to the only venomous snakes in GA-- http://www.gafollowers.com/6-dangerous-snakes-georgia/#_
Here is a good one too-- http://www.georgiawildlife.org/site...ame/pdf/2013VenomousSnakesBrochure_Online.pdf
