My landlord laid out the initial $200 and I paid the $150 for the title bond. He had another guy begging to buy it for $3000. My folks needed a car at the time. So I got Robby, my landlord to sell it to them and make less money. The point is that they NEVER could have bought the car at $200.00 because they don't have a big box truck with the "We Buy Cars.." sign on the back. And if they had bought it at a lot it would have been at least $4995.00. So the way I see it is that they got a damn good deal. And they were glad to get it.
Am I supposed to sell it to them for the $350.00 we had in it? I already took $500.00 less than we would have made just to help them out.
I already sold them a 2007 Mercury Milan when at cost when I worked for Terry Holmes Ford. I made $0.00 on that deal AND I packaged the deal paperwork up and took it to them. The only person at the lot that they had to deal with besides me was the finance manager when they signed the forms and picked up the car. That's what I used to do for family and friends when I worked at car lots.
