THIS IS WHY I DONT LIKE MOST CAR SALESMAN!

So what you're saying is that I didn't have the right to retaliate against a jerk off that came to MY place of employment and cussed me before I could say hello. That story was just a perfect example of you get what you give. I spent 10 to 12 hours a day 6 days a week on asphalt in dress shoes and ties. So I spent as much time on the lot as I did at home. And my first wife made damn sure to let me know that. So why should I just bend over for some asshole with a preconceived idea about ME and a ****ed up attitude? I don't feel sorry for anyone like that. I wouldn't walk into YOUR place of business and cuss you before you could say hello. Do you think that would work in a gun/pawn shop? Hell no! So why is it okay at the car lot?

I've got to side with letusbuyyourcar on this one... If his salesman "spidey" sense told him to focus on the wife to make the sale - and he did it. He's a damn good salesman. .

The woman and man in this story sound like idiots who ended up with a quality automobile.

I suppose we have a different definition of the word family. Where I'm from this type of thing don't jeehaw. ****, I'd give my mom my car if she needed it. Much less an extra car
Well maybe all your bills are paid and your 401K is nice and fat. But mine aint. I loaned my folks $43000.00 in 97 to partially fund the construction of a huge house in Monroe Co. The money was from my first wife's life insurance. Well my mom doesn't make the money she did in the 90s. Long story short, they let the bank have the house back in 2012 and rented a house in Perry. That's about $35,000.00 I will never see again. Not one thing I can do to recoup that money. It took me a long time to let that go. But I only got one mother and my father died last year. Point is, I don't think $2500.00 was TOO much to ask in this situation.

I'm not out to "knock anyone's head off". But there is NOTHING wrong with making a profit.

I get it. I had my dealers license a couple years ago... went through all the red tape and BS associated with holding the license... just to find out how tough it is in the used car market right now. Little... Tiny... Margins (for me anyhow)

Well I sincerely regret that this thread got hijacked into me being a cut throat used car hustler. My original comment was intended to point out that profit is what makes the world go round and it's not evil. But it seems that there are plenty of folks out there that want to judge you by how much your profit margin is on any deal. I don't see that as anyone's business. I didn't go in and insist that Verizon show me their margin on this iPhone. I don't care what it was. I am the consumer and the consumer pays RETAIL. But so many people now think that they're special and should get the inside deal. That's not how it works.
And some folks look down on me because I don't have a dealer's license or a lot with a building and a big purple inflatable gorilla. If I had all that **** my cars would cost as much as all the rest of them. I'm doing what I know how to do and really don't give a **** if some folks look down on me. Plus, I do a good bit of niche vehicles. You can't go to a lot that I know of and find a running driving 67 C10. But I have one. And as of next week it's going to Houston as soon as the $5000.00 check clears.
I don't mind helping any of yall with advice or even towing a vehicle for those of yall in middle GA. I've been talking with GA Boy since last week trying to cure him of his trade in fever. Never trade in a good truck! But this is who I am and I aint the least bit ashamed.

2001 TJ, How many guns have you bought/sold/ traded here or elsewhere? Do you have an FFL? Did you transfer them through an FFL? Well it's pretty much the same thing.
