Course Content: This 250 round course develops the skills needed to successfully operate a pistol with the non-dominant hand in the event that your dominant hand is not functional. Students will learn through a progression of freestyle and dominant hand only drills to ultimately draw, reload, and clear malfunctions using only their non-dominant hand. It is much more convenient to learn how to do this on the range than to have to figure it out under incoming fire.

Prerequisite: This is not a course for the first time student. Enrollment is limited to students who have already completed training from a recognized instructor that included drawing, reloading, etc, under time constraints. Examples of such training are our own Carry Essentials course, Rangemaster’s Combative Pistol 1, Sparrow Defense Defensive Pistol 1, Precision Applications Combat Handgun, etc. Graduates from a law enforcement academy, IDPA Sharpshooter class or USPSA C-class shooters or higher will also be accepted. Other students may be admitted with approval from the instructor.

Please contact me at lee@firstpersonsafety.com with any inquiries.

Equipment: You will need a quality semi-automatic pistol and ammunition that will function in your pistol. Your holster should be one that does not collapse when the pistol is drawn and allows for one-handed re-holstering. Holsters that require the use of the trigger finger to disengage a retention device, such as a Blackhawk Serpa, are strongly discouraged. At minimum, at least three magazines are needed, and at least two magazine carriers are encouraged.

Shooters need eye and ear protection as well as a hat with a brim. Shooters should bring whatever personal comfort items such as drinks, food, chairs, etc. that they wish to have.

Cost: The cost for this course is $100.00. A spot in the class may be reserved by making a $50.00 deposit (plus $3.74 processing fee if paid through Eventbrite via credit card). The balance is due on the date of the class.

Arrangements to pay the deposit via cash, check, money order, or PayPal may be made by contacting the instructor at lee@firstpersonsafety.com.

Weather policy: If the weather is such that it jeopardizes the students' safety, the class will be postponed or delayed as appropriate. Otherwise, the class will go forth as scheduled rain or shine.

Cancellation Policy: The deposit is non-refundable if you choose not to attend the class. If the range were to cancel, full refunds will be made. I reserve the right to cancel the class and grant full refunds if fewer than five students sign up for the class. If I am forced to cancel the class for reasons other than the outlined above, students will have the option of refund of their deposit or attending the course on another date at a reduced fee.

POST credit will be awarded to GA POST certified peace officers.
