Legalize it!! At least if it was being manufactured in a controlled-laboratory setting, not as many innocent children would be subjected to the toxic vapors and explosions...

back in the late 70's early 80's it was crystal..................................

Legalize drugs? Hell no. Legalize marijuana? Absolutely. Marijuana is not a "drug" like meth or crack is. The libertarian in me says we should legalize all drugs and let people kill themselves as they please but realistically I know that will never work. So I think that meth, crack, heroin and the rest of the hard stuff should still be illegal. Marijuana is absolutely harmelss though and I see nothing wrong with it.
Portugal legalized all drugs a few years ago. They have almost no drug problem now. Imagine that, give a junkie a pound of dope and the next day you have no more junkie to worry about. I know I know, " We need to help them before they kill themselves", sadly enough the vast majority are beyond help.

Any more than they are now? Remember, with legalization comes a reduction in price and overall crime associated with the drug in the first place. Take criminal drug lords out of it and criminal drug runners and criminal street sellers, and a whole lot of the crime is simply gone.
Yes, meth heads will steal and rob and kill...but those things are already against the law. Instances of meth-induced theft and murder are not likely to go up, as evidenced by every other time in any other country in the world where liberalized drug laws brought reduction in drug use, drug related crime, and overall negative affects from drugs.
I say legalize it all. Make it prescription if you want, tax it, whatever. But take the criminal element out of it and a lot of problems are solved overnight.
Tried it in a few European countries, did not work. Hell they gave it away in some places, crime and heath care costs sky rocketed.
Probably find thousands of sites and statistics to support both sides of the argument. But I believe in common sense. Kinda like the govt spending more and more money to get us out of dept...Defies common sense.
