Gheenoe restoration project.

A buddy of mine sold me a 13' Gheenoe with a 1976 Johnson 6hp motor and fuel tank for 300 bucks. It was in pretty rough shape but a solid boat. I decided to start restoring it. Got about 20 hours in it so far and still 3 more coats of paint to go. Turning out pretty good so far.

I will, if everything goes right I will have the hull finished by the end of this week. Then start I start on the inside, I'm thinking I'm going to repair the transom just in case it's rotten, then go from there.

The plan is to sell that 6hp motor and buy a new Honda four stroke 9.9 for it.

That's the truth. I may do one of those mud motors on it instead of the 9.9, I've got a 12hp Briggs and Stratton in the basement. You can buy a kit for about 600 bucks for the long shaft and prop. But still I'm sure I'll have at least $3k in it by the time I'm done.
