I'd guess a "rustic" CZ stock looks better than much of the junk you find in the local gun store. If you don't like the stock, order a replacement from CZ. I've ordered a lot of stuff from them online, including parts.

Anyone that has one, how do you like them? I’ve always liked the look of them but never perused one because of the price. Recently I’ve become more interested in 7.62x39 for a deer rifle, where I hunt shots are rarely over 100 yards. I was on grab a gun today and noticed a CZ527 Rustic Carbine for $435 and I jumped on it. Good deal or no?

damn good shootin rifle. You got a deal! It's made to shoot the cheap steel case ammo. Play with different brands until you find the one it likes. Mine likes wolf military better than tula.

Not sure if you're looking for a sling for your 527 carbine. My favorite sling is the A-1 from Murray Custom Leather. They're not cheap but they're excellent and I can easily swap the sling between rifles.
