So I was scouting out some competition as well as looking for a titanium ring to buy, (my jewelry store doesn't have any in stock). D Geller was my first stop. Their selection is nice with decent quality diamonds.
My saleswoman that was assisting me went to check on my size ring in the back because I found one I was going to purchase. While she was gone the manager asked if I wanted anything thing to drink and I said that I would like a water. He comes around and hands me the water and sees my CCW. I was sitting down so when I got up to get the water I printed enough for him to notice.
Guys, when I tell you his eyes got bigger than walnuts I am not lying! He asked "are you carrying...a GuN?" I calmly stated yes I am, He quickly shuffles back behind the counter as if to find some cover. Then he asks ,the all too common question, "are you a police officer?" (as if only police officers are the only ones smart enough to carry) I said no I am not. He kept staring at me all bug eyed and started to become uncomfortable.
The saleswoman that was assisting me comes back and I ask if this is a gun free zone. shes said "no, as long as its legal for you..."
The manager walks around and says "we would prefer it if you left it in your car". Now I am not one of those "cop blockers" and I hate confrontation so I say "absolutely no problem" The saleswoman said that she would wait for me. I said "ok"...

I hate it when people demonize firearms and their carriers. The way he stared at me, you would have thought I was a terrorist.
Needless to say they wont get my business.

Remind the manager of this:

You did the right thing. A lot of store owners now will be on alert ( and scared ) since the jewelry store in Carroll County got robbed and the owner was killed yesterday.

I think I would have handled it slightly differently. I think when the saleswoman asked that you leave it in the car I would have informed her that I was a card carrying member of GCO, and that I was also a GWL holder and a member of the NRA, and that I would be returning to my car one time from their store. Either I would be returning to my car with my pistol and my money or I would be returning with my pistol and a ring, either one would be fine with me but I would only be doing one or the other and If I returned with my pistol and my money I wouldnt bother coming back so I could return with the ring only.

Not gonna get into bashing a biz with details but both my brother and I had separate dealings with the above mentioned jewelry store and both of us have come to the same conclusion....we will never shop with them again....and this isn't even a gun related thing---B
