Maybe not acorns, but I liked going to sleep listening to the rain on the tin roof when I lived with my parents. Hickory nuts made some racket though!

We have a black walnut tree right beside our house with a few limbs that hang over, you should listen to that noise when they begin to drop! Sounds like a bowling alley.........
