So I had to go to court today and be a wittness...It was a civil case involving personal injury in a motor vehicle crash. I was very disturbed for a few reasons. Before the jury was selected the attornys and the judge discussed some "pre trial limiting". I had no idea this was a common practice in civil and criminal cases. Basicly its a back and forth between sides discussing what you can and cannot say. For example "its not to be discussed the persons immigration status" and "prior driving records cannot be discussed"? I watched this unfold way before the jury entered the courtroom. The jury was supposed to award damages but not have anywhere near the entire story. Not that im telling yall anything that you dont know already. The justice system is so broken...dont get in trouble....They are all freaking morons... The worst part is when I talked to the bailiff. He told me the pre trial limiting really pisses him off when its a guy who has beaten his wife 5 times before but they cant talk about it....Even though hes on trial for assault....Sigh
Thanks,
Justin

I wonder if you abolish parole, bring back the chair, and end plea bargains what the crime rate would be? Seems like a small percentage of folks are doing a lot of the crime. Seems like everytime they have a case in the news the perp has a lengthy record.

Yea, I always get a good laugh when people talk about our justice system and how they watch all the TV shows. They actually think our police and justice system works like Law & Order, SVU etc. If you've ever been on a Jury or been to Court then you know what I'm talking about. People actually think the Judges, attorneys etc. Care about Justice. What a crock. It's all about what can be said and what can be twisted. It just seems like the system seems to be more interested in the rights of the Criminals instead of the Victims.

Hooray for success in our judicial system. I Love Gerard Butlers stance in "Law Abiding Citizen" we need to dismantle it and rebuild it so that this stuff cannot happen and peoples records can be discussed no matter the cause. Lawyers are limiting Bi-lateral attacks because it can make emotions and juries confused. I was going to go to law school but shadowing a few attorneys showed me I was ignorant of the system and should take up another career path.
