if you want to hypertechnical, the dead deer belongs to the landowner, but that is a property issue, not a DNR issue.

I read the article. There is no game violation in Georgia picking up a "deadhead" a term I've never seen used before I read that article.

I've seen racks and mounts for sale at auctions and yard sales. According to that author, you would need to call DNR before buying one.

What's kinda, sorta ironic, is that it's only relatively recently that a motorist could pick up a deer the motorist hit and killed.
