What are some good .223/5.56 rounds for deer out to 60-70 yards?? Asking for a non-ODT friend, and I am not a hunter.

Ive seen the 77 gr sierra matchkings do damage on some pigs i cant imagine it wont do work on a deer.

It wouldn't be my first choice. I've shot deer with that cartridge. I'd say any soft point. It's going to frag. Shoot them in the head, neck or spine. And make sure there's nothing to deflect the bullet between you and the target. I know the military guys swear by that cartridge. I'm not a fan for big game. That's just my mileage for what it's worth. Just make sure you can place that shot in a very small space. Because shot placement will be everything and be ready for a quick follow up shot if needed
