Deer Antler Sheds for Dog Chews?

I'm conflicted after reading this. The article goes back and forth about weather antlers are ok, as well as alternatives. I was excited to be able to get her some to chew on (I was thinking I'd grab some next time I'm out at the farm).

I've had dogs chew these before, and never had any issues, but I guess they're like bones in that they could be dangerous... I think I'll get one and see how it goes.

Dogs been eatin bone for hundreds of years....all of a sudden eggs are bad for you....wait now they are good. Yall see whut i did there

I picked up 2 undyed pieces of whitetail antlers at the annual knife show at the Cobb civic center. My lab/husky mix loves them and the only thing he hasn't completely destroyed in a day... Petsmart has them for $30-50 a peice depending on size. I paid $20 total for both at the knife show lol! Meant for stag handles but not predrilled and I made sure to grab some that were not dyed. Never had an issue and hes had them for over a year now.

My lab has several around the yard , it’s the only thing he doesn’t bury.

Much better then him trying to sneak a deer leg that he buried 2 months ago into

The house..

<<<< Otis, my black lab, happy with the simple things.
Like tennis ball or braided rope with knots tied in each end.
Rope about .70/ft, 3 feet enough to make knots which keep
it from unraveling and still be long enough for tug of war.
Milkbones seem to keep his teeth clean.
Not sure if typical of all labs but Otis learned commands easily,
and seems to have food on his mind all the time. Have to keep
the catfood covered or he'll steal that soon as my back is turned.
Enjoy your new companion, all we need now are a name & the pics.
